This was Day 1 in Amsterdam. Our flight came in around 8:30 Thursday morning. We met up with Dennis & Christine at the airport, took a train into Amsterdam, and dropped our luggage off at the botel. Most of Thurs was spent getting our bearings & walking around the area by our botel. Thurs night we took a cab to a section of town called Leidseplein and had dinner at a nice steakhouse. Leidseplein is a great place ~ we went there many more times.

The day we landed was very chilly, windy & overcast, but luckily the weather got nicer as the trip went on. We noticed that most days started off kind of gloomy, but then got much nicer by the afternoon & evening. At this time of year, it didn't get dark until at least 10:30 at night, and never seemed to get totally dark out.
