On our third day in Amsterdam, the four of us took a tram to the Anne Frank house. It was
very interesting & very sad at the same time. Unfortunately, they don't allow any picture-taking inside so
we have no pictures of it. After the Anne Frank house, we took a nice long walk to the Leidseplein area and
then all the way back to the botel, seeing many sights in between.
While we were in Amsterdam, the 2004 Euro-Cup soccer (football to them) tournament was going on, and Holland
was still alive. The city was INSANELY excited . . . everywhere you looked were orange flags/banners and people wearing
orange shirts & hats. On this Saturday night, they were playing Sweden. Mike & I took a tram back to Leidseplein
that night so we could be in the thick of the excitement during the game. Holland beat Sweden that night, and
even long after we had returned to the botel, you could still hear cheering & horn-honking all throughout the city.
There are a lot of pictures, so if you get an empty box with just an X in
it,
right-click the box and select Show Picture.
