Our Wedding

Mike and I were married on July 17, 1999.  It was a sweltering day   ~ the temperature topped out at 97 degrees!  The outdoor wedding ceremony was at 6:00 pm, followed immediately by an indoor reception.  Our wedding song was "Meant To Be" by the Squirrel Nut Zippers (you can read the lyrics below).  After the reception ended, we headed across to the street to a local bar to continue the party.  We went to Sandals in St. Lucia for our honeymoon.

There are a lot of pictures on this page, so it may take some time to build.   If you get a box with just a caption or an X in it, but no picture, right-click on the box and select 'Show Picture' from the pop-up menu ~ that will make the picture appear.

This is my favorite of all the wedding pictures.
Our unity candles kept melting at the base & tipping over because of the heat.
The Reverend asked "the littlest usher" (Mike Sagel) to hold the unity candles in place
so they'd stop tipping over. Mike and I are laughing because I whispered something like
"now Mike Sagel is going to be in the middle of all our pictures".

The 5th Bridesmaid
The 5th Bridesmaid
I only had 4 bridesmaids.  The girl in this picture was our friend Glen's date.
(They've long since broken-up, so it's OK to poke fun.)  Before the wedding ceremony
I was peaking at the people arriving, and much to my surprise, Glen's date showed up wearing
the exact same dress as my bridesmaids.  I think I even exclaimed "She's wearing my
bridesmaids' dress!"  It just turned out to be an unfortunate coincidence on her part.
I purposely chose that dress because I wanted something that looked like a regular dress
and something that my bridesmaids wouldn't be embarassed to wear again.  After
that mishap, I don't think any of them will wear their dress to somebody else's wedding.

We had disposable cameras sitting on all of the tables so guests could take pictures of each other.  Click on the link below to see those pictures, or click on the other link to go back to our main website.

Meant To Be
by the Squirrel Nut Zippers

All the time I'm finding ways to make things fall in line
I know how tricky things can be
But I really do believe that you are mine,
and all the stars are there before us.
Listen here, some things are meant to be.

Tried to take it slow, tried to lose control,
but I'll tell you what the trick is:
What you get is what you had to give away.
When I learned, I found my eyes were opened.

Long ago I had a dream that quickly faded.
Goes to show how tricky dreams can be
But wouldn't you agree that those who know
will whisper when they see us walking
"There's a love that's always meant to be"
